What's New for
Spring, Summer and Autumn 2005

I probably spent the least creative season of my life last winter.  It was strange having my oldest daughter go overseas at age 16, I don't think I was as ready for it as she was.  That resulted in a lot of contemplation for me.  Having Ula our exchange student from Poland tear her ACL ligament on her right knee required much time, especially for Sue who turned into Ula's nurse, and then drove her to many sessions of therapy.
I had made a decision to grow my Web Design Business and in order to do that I needed to learn to work more efficiently and learn different scripting languages as well as Flash Movies.  It's worked out well as I am always busy with web business and using my talents with Flash Movies in creative ways.
Sue had a tremendous year with her Raku, we didn't keep count but I think we sold more Raku this year than ever before and that's because Sue kept a wonderful supply on the shelves.  She had many great pieces as you can see the vessel on the left.
The bracelet seen above was very typical of the bead work Sue does as a hobby.  She tries to keep one of our three jewelry cases half full of just the work she is doing.

This stoneware casserole has one of Sue's new whimsical handles on it, depicting a horse made from coils.

This piece was pit fired and smoldered for 24 hours while it was wrapped with ferns

A lot of time went into the JEMS Space Project.  We received a wonderful gift that allowed us to proceed with building the Theater.
There still was fundraising to do though and of course helping to organize music concerts.

JEMS is hoping to have the roof of the building shingled by Thanksgiving.

In between everything else I always found time to paint and participate in Mountain Drum.
