New York City January 2006

We were very fortunate to be able to stay in a friends apartment on the west side near Lincoln Center
Here's the view we had for four days.  Our actual time in the apartment was very limited, mostly we were out and about, walking, site seeing, doing and eating.

Bright and early the first morning, Corrine and Emily took off for Times Square and Rockefeller Center, Sue and I walked through Central Park on our way to the Met.  As we were lingering in Strawberry Fields our cell rang and it was Doug over in Queens.  We wanted to get together with Dave, Lettie and Doug at some point and Doug was giving us the schedule and then he said to call Lettie and that she had a surprise for us.

That surprise turned out to be
DRUMSTRUCK

Everyone in the theater had a drum on their seat and the cast was great in having the audience participate in the evening.  DRUMSTRUCK is twelve powerful drummers and dancers from South Africa.
It was a wonderful show and highlight of our trip....thank you Lettie.

We walked along Fifth Avenue taking in the sights.

Emily wanted to horse back ride in Central Park, so we found the stable on west 90th almost two blocks west of Central Park.  Emily had to ride through the streets to get into the park.
She had a great ride, and a unique City experience.

One night we went into the seething core of the big apple, Times Square.
Lotta lights, lotta noise, lotta people.

We also went to China town and the Bronx Zoo as well as visited with friends in Queens.
