The World Premier of "The Fisherman" was on February 7, 2007 at the Recovery Lounge in Upper Jay.
The stage adaptation and direction was by Scott Renderer, the story came from the book "Trailerpark" by
Russell Banks.  The book is a series of short stories one of which is "The Fisherman".
Twelve local actors and Russell Banks made up the cast.  I played the Fisherman and Emily played Noni.
Sue did an incredible job working the lighting system.

Merle Ring (the fisherman) lives in a trailer park with all the other characters, he is retired and just loves ice fishing and being left alone in his "Zen" existence.  Until he wins the state lottery and all his trailer park neighbors barrage him with their ideas on what he should do with the money.

Here's Russell and Scott at the Cast Party, after having four successful nights of filling the house at 85 seats.

It's always fun to perform, but meeting new people and being in a wonderful project with friends can't be beat.
I had to grow a three month beard for the part of Merle, here I am with Janene and Liza.
