Gary Invited us to walk with him for three short hikes to exquisite lookouts.  The cliffs across from where we parked where just beginning to get the morning light.  On our first lookout after walking only ten minutes, Joan, Alice and Sue take in the view.

The view looks towards Wolfjaw and Gothics, this cliff was on a small ridge that starts by Chapel Pond and this ledge was perhaps 200 yards west of the pond.

The five enjoyers of an Autumn Day pose.

Sue keeps this boulder from blocking our way enabling us to get by and hike another day.

Pictures of Gary in the woods and Joan on the edge of a cliff,
they are camouflaged by the spotted light and autumn atmosphere

A S.W.A.T. team being trained came along and climbed the cliff.

It's always important to take time and smell the mushrooms

Gary showed us a wonderful hike along an old logging road that goes to Two Crow Pond and then quickly took us to Belfry Mountain, which has a fire tower on it  The view from the tower looks back to Gothics and Dix and you can also see Whiteface and the other side of the Jay Wilderness.

Smilin' Sue in the tower at the top and me too.

The view looking east over Mineville and then Lake Champlain over to Vermont.

The Autumn colors were still strong in the yellows and rusts, most of the bright reds were passed by already, temperature was in the middle 60's.
